Sensible Music

This is a very active part of our business and we have been involved in recording many live concerts of all types, and have supplied systems for the recording of numerous orchestral and choral works.
When orchestras and choirs are involved there are few studios in Ireland with the capacity to fit the large numbers of musicians. We can be of help in finding locations, with appropriate space, acoustics and general facilities.

Our systems can be completely analogue or digital recorders with an analogue front end. Often we use Focusrite Red mic-pre's driving the chosen recorder with a simple analogue console for monitoring. Recording devices include Otari MTR90 with Dolby A/SR, Sony 3348, Otari Radar 11, Pro-Tools, Alesis ADAT (16 or 20 bit), Tascam DA88 all of which can, if required, be synchronised when video recording is part of the session.

We can also provide complete crewing facilities including producers, engineers, tape-ops, riggers etc. etc.

Control Room

FOR DANIEL O'DONNELL RECORDING WITH 60 PIECE ORCHESTRA AND 60 PIECE CHOIR

The system used for this session included an Otari Radar 11 with an Otari MTR90 Mk11 providing a simultaneous analogue backup recording. Over 45 large diapraghm condenser mics and a 72 piece headphone rig were required. Monitoring was achieved via Meyer HD1's.

Control Room

HERE WE ARE WITH DANIEL AGAIN THIS TIME IN THE HELIX CONCERT HALL, DUBLIN.

On this occasion the main recorder was a ProTools HD rig from Beechpark Studios (where the mixing will be done), with a Radar 11 system in place as a safety recorder. The rest of the system was very similar

INTEGRITY MUSIC

CONTROL ROOM SET UP IN ST. CATHERINES CHURCH, DUBLIN
A RECORDING FOR INTEGRITY MUSIC.

The system for this session was based on 32 tracks of Tascam DA88 with a second 32 tracks running alongside as a backup. The front end was a collection of mic-pre's from ourselves and some supplied by the engineer feeding direct to tape. Monitoring was via a Mackie 32/8 and once again used Meyer HD1's. THis was a live concert performed specifically for recording purposes.

LIVE RECORDING FOR PAUL BRADY IN VICAR STREET. VENUE, DUBLIN

Here we were recording a series of live concerts with Paul Brady, using a Pro-Tools setup driven by direct outputs from a Midas Heritage, which was simultaneously used for the live mix.

AGAIN IN VICAR ST VENUE DUBLIN. THIS TIME FOR MICKEY JOE HARTE.

For this recording we uesd a Radar 11 24 track recorder with a Langley BIG as the console. Monitoring through Meyer HD1's. Some B & K 4011 were used as ambience mics.
